Dr. Nolan Stewart
PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Stewart, the President and Owner of Professional Rehab Associates, Inc., earned his Doctoral Degree from Duke University in 2009 after receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater College in 2006. He received the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty designation of Orthopedic Certified Specialists in 2012. His practice experience is specific in nature. In his practice, Nolan serves as one of the team physical therapy providers of Radford University Athletics. However, he treats a wide variety of orthopedic and neuromuscular impairments and disabilities including post-operative and non-operative patients for orthopedic and sports concerns, as well as vestibular and balance dysfunctions. His research efforts are focused on the treatment of adolescent obesity and its underlying chronic disease risk, as well as sports performance improvement through targeted movement enhancement. Dr. Stewart works with overhand athletes (baseball, golf, tennis, basketball, and swimming) as well as runners. In addition, Dr. Stewart has been trained in manual-hands-on techniques and possesses a direct access certification enabling initial treatment without referral. In the fall of 2012, Dr. Nolan began a post at Radford University instructing Therapeutic Exercise to undergraduate students. In addition, he has guest lectured at Radford University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
