Dr. Brittany Stewart, PT, DPT: Dr. Stewart earned her Doctoral Degree from Duke University in 2011 after receiving a Bachelor in Science degree from Wake Forest University in 2008. In the fall of 2014, Brittany joined the sports medicine staff at Radford University serving as a team physical therapist. Brittany continues to serve as the team physical therapy providers of Radford University Athletics. Her practice experience has included providing general outpatient services for a wide array of orthopedic and neurological conditions in people of all ages.

Dr. Brittany Stewart has a passion for sports, having played many sports from a young age. Her interest in sports fostered an interest in sports rehabilitation, sports performance enhancement, and injury prevention. As a dance athlete, she has 18 years of dance experience. Dr. Kathy Stewart, MSPT: Kathy Stewart is the Owner and President of Professional Rehab Associates, Inc. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from California State University, Long Beach in 1978 and her Master’s Degree in Vocational Technical Education from Virginia Tech in 1990. She has been a physical therapist since 1978, initially practicing in California then moving to Virginia in 1980. She established PRA as a licensed rehab agency in 1987. Ms. Stewart spent five years as the director of the physical therapist assistant program at Wytheville Community College from 1988 to 1992.

She developed the practice of physical therapy at PRA to include focused, targeted care in pediatrics, and aquatic therapy. Ms. Stewart also developed a wellness program and has a wide variety of expertise in the areas of treatment of soft tissue injuries, orthopedic management, muscle energy, and vestibular and sensorimotor rehabilitation. Dr. Nolan Stewart, PT, DPT, OCS: Dr. Stewart earned his Doctoral Degree from Duke University in 2009 after receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater College in 2006. He received the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty designation of Orthopedic Certified Specialists in 2012. His practice experience is specific in nature. In his practice, Nolan serves as one of the team physical therapy providers of Radford University Athletics. However, he treats a wide variety of orthopedic and neuromuscular impairments and disabilities including post-operative and non-operative patients for orthopedic and sports concerns, as well as vestibular and balance dysfunctions. His research efforts are focused on the treatment of adolescent obesity and its underlying chronic disease risk, as well as sports performance improvement through targeted movement enhancement. Dr. Stewart works with overhand athletes (baseball, golf, tennis, basketball, and swimming) as well as runners. In addition, Dr. Stewart has been trained in manual-hands-on techniques and possesses a direct access certification enabling initial treatment without referral. In the fall of 2012, Dr. Nolan began a post at Radford University instructing Therapeutic Exercise to undergraduate students. In addition, he has guest lectured at Radford University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Susan Burchett, LPTA: Ms. Burchett earned her degree from Wytheville Community College in 1992. She has worked as a physical therapist assistant at PRA since 1992. Stephanie Hare, PT:
Stephanie Workman, PT, DPT: Dr. Workman earned her Doctoral Degree from Duke University in 2015 after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech in 2011. Her practice experience has included treatment of a wide array of orthopedic and neurological conditions in the general outpatient setting. In 2015, she received her certification in the LSVT BIG program for treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease and secondary Parkinsonism. Her special interest is in helping patients with movement disorders to improve functional movement patterns and mobility to optimize independence and quality of life. Other interests include treatment of post-operative and non-operative orthopedic conditions, as well as balance and gait impairments. Mary Bennett, MOTR/L: Ms. Bennett is originally from Roanoke, VA. Mary earned her B.S. in Biology at the University of Mary Washington. She graduated from Radford University with a Master’s in Occupational Therapy in December of 2015. Mary enjoys working in pediatrics to help children succeed with their major occupations: play, school, and participating at home with their families! Mary’s interest is in sensory integration and optimal learning environments at Floyd County schools.

Laura Buzzard, SP: Ms. Buzzard provides professional speech therapy services for patients of all ages. She is an asset to our facility and has assisted numerous patients with a wide variety of conditions to develop and regain their speech and language skills.
